Close-Up UFO Video In Jerusalem

Is this another elaborate hoax, or is there some credibility here? Another set of videos that look very realistic. It’s a little too hard  to judge. Needless to say, if  this is a hoax it’s a very , very good one. If you’re looking for more truth on UFO’s, you can start here.  Please leave your comments below.

Do you like a good UFO mystery? Then try your hand at this one: In the past week, several videos have appeared on the Internet depicting an amazing UFO sequence over the Dome of the Rock, an Islamic shrine, on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem.

But are these videos real or faked? It’s causing quite an online ruckus as people debate the issue of what really occurred in the early morning on Friday.

The first video that emerged shows a bright object hovering over the Dome of the Rock and slowly descending until it stops above the shrine. After a few moments, there’s a flash of light from the area surrounding the religious structure, and the UFO suddenly shoots straight up in the air. When the camera pans up, several red lights or objects can be seen rotating clockwise in the sky.

The interesting thing about this video is the presence of a man in the foreground who is also filming the UFO with a cell phone. And his version of the UFO activity showed up on YouTube the day after the first video.

What seems to help the credibility of these two videos is the fact that they were shot by two different people and at slightly different angles and they reveal the same unusual event.

It’s what the skeptics always call for: corroboration.

But then a third video emerged, from a much closer proximity to the Dome of the Rock, showing a close-up of the UFO as it stopped in the air and its subsequent rapid acceleration straight up.

Also, all three videos include the audio reaction of people who witnessed this UFO encounter, especially their responses when the object suddenly shot up in the air.

Violation Of Young Adults

Insurance company puts cameras in teens' cars.

How far is too far? Is this a direct violation of our childs rights, or are we preparing them to have no privacy when they grow up? Big brother is watching.  Cameras on street corners, red light cameras, highway cameras, car cameras, phone cameras. It is indeed the digital age, our world is evolving. The information is there, what you do with it is up to you. What are your thoughts??

To help parents monitor their young drivers, American Family Insurance is offering its customers the option to have a small video camera installed in their childrens’ vehicles, free of charge. According to The Kansas City Star, the camera, which is mounted on the rearview mirror, records views of the person behind the wheel, and of the road ahead. If a driver makes an irregular move — like whipping into another lane, stomping the brakes or crashing into something — an analyst for DriveCam, Inc., the video firm behind this technology, can view a 20-second clip. After looking at the moments before, during and after the accident, the analyst determines whether or not the video should be sent to the teen’s parents. Sandra Spann, a spokeswoman from the insurance company, told the Star that this video footage isn’t typically used to settle claims or determine liability for customers. Instead, the idea is for parents and teens to sit down, look at the footage, and discuss what the teen was doing wrong, so that he or she doesn’t make the same mistake in the future.

Of course, teens want their privacy and freedom behind the wheel. Driving unaccompanied is a rite of passage, and the fact that the DriveCam is always recording will likely annoy young drivers. But parents will only see footage from inside the car if their teen makes a mistake behind the wheel. Sorry kids, but you can’t cry privacy violation as your folks watch you plowing over a mailbox because you were texting on your iPhone.

Man With Obama Mask Robs Banks Demands Change

VIENNA—Say, isn’t that the president with a gun in his hand? Actually, no, but it sure looks like it.Austrian authorities are searching for a bank robber who uses an unusual disguise: He wears a Barack Obama mask during his holdups.

Police say the man, nicknamed the “Obama Robber” by local media, is wanted for six heists since 2008. The most recent took place Thursday in the hamlet of Handenberg, where the Obama-resembling suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money after threatening bank employees with a gun.

Police official Markus Mitloehner said Friday that the man is thought to be a local since he speaks the regional dialect—with nary a trace of Obama’s more professorial accent.

Our God Owns You

They’ve been extinct for about 10,000 years, but woolly mammoths could be back on Earth in just five years, according to Japanese scientists who plan to use frozen DNA to resurrect the behemoth.

Last summer, researchers plucked skin and muscle tissue from an ancient mammoth’s carcass that was found preserved under permafrost in Siberia. A nearly complete body of one of the animals was found there and has since been kept in a special freezer in a Russian research lab.

Researchers from Japan’s Kinki University have found a way to isolate DNA from the frozen mammoth’s tissue. Now they plan to insert that DNA into the egg cells of a normal, modern African elephant and then plant the resulting embryo into the elephant’s womb.

Japanese Scientists to Resurrect Woolly Mammoth

The woolly mammoth at Canada’s Royal BC Museum in Victoria, British Columbia. Japanese scientists plan to use frozen DNA to bring back the behemoth by having a surrogate mother elephant give birth to it.

Elephants are the closest contemporary relative to ancient woolly mammoths, which are believed to have died out during the last Ice Age. Zoos across Japan were asked to donate their female elephants’ eggs, harvested from the animals when they died.

After a 600-day gestation period, the elephant would give birth to a baby mammoth. That baby would be a clone of that frozen mammoth found in the Siberian tundra and believed to have died more than 10,000 years ago. The baby would not have any genetic relation to the surrogate mother that actually gives birth to it.

The whole process will take about five years to complete. It’ll be about two years before a mammoth embryo is ready to be planted into the surrogate elephant, the lead Japanese researcher, Akira Iritani, told London’s Daily Telegraph.

Your New Zodiac Sign

If you’re the type of person who relies on mysterious-sounding locations of stars to determine your personality and outcome in life, get ready to be shocked.

The field of astrology, which is concerned with horoscopes and the like, felt a major disruption from astronomers, who are concerned with actual stars and planets. The astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society found that because of the moon’s gravitational pull on Earth, the alignment of the stars was pushed by about a month.

(More on See the best pictures of 2010.)

“When [astrologers] say that the sun is in Pisces, it’s really not in Pisces,” noted Parke Kunkle, a member of the group’s board. Your astrological sign is determined by the position of the sun on the day you were born, so that means everything you thought you knew about your horoscope is wrong.

It turns out that astrology has had issues from its inception. (Aside from the fact that it tries to link personality traits with positions of the stars.) Ancient Babylonians had 13 constellations, but wanted only 12, so threw out Ophuchicus, the snake holder. Libra didn’t even enter the picture until the era of Julius Caesar.

Largest-Ever Image of Universe Released

Astronomers have released the largest, most detailed color picture ever taken of the universe.

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey’s breathtaking image, released at the 217th annual meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Seattle, is actually a mosaic stitched together from 7 million pixels, each made of 125 million pictures, the BBC said.

It was made using a 138-megapixel camera attached to a 2.5-meter telescope at the Apache Point Observatory in New Mexico.

“There are half a billion objects detected in this image,” said David Weinberg, an Ohio State University astronomer who worked on the SDSS image, according to The Guardian newspaper. “About a quarter of a billion stars and a quarter of a billion galaxies.”

“You can see individual stars, galaxies –- the detail is incredible,” Marek Kukula of the Royal Greenwich Observatory told the BBC.

Government Wants To Help You With Passwords

We are not talking about a national ID card,” Locke said at the Stanford event. “We are not talking about a government-controlled system. What we are talking about is enhancing online security and privacy, and reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords, through creation and use of more trusted digital identities.”

STANFORD, Calif.–President Obama is planning to hand the U.S. Commerce Department authority over a forthcoming cybersecurity effort to create an Internet ID for Americans, a White House official said here today.

It’s “the absolute perfect spot in the U.S. government” to centralize efforts toward creating an “identity ecosystem” for the Internet, White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt said.

That news, first reported by CNET, effectively pushes the department to the forefront of the issue, beating out other potential candidates, including the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. The move also is likely to please privacy and civil-liberties groups that have raised concerns in the past over the dual roles of police and intelligence agencies.

The announcement came at an event today at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, where U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and Schmidt spoke.

The Obama administration is currently drafting what it’s calling the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace, which Locke said will be released by the president in the next few months. (An early version was publicly released last summer.

Falling Birds Now Fish? Cause For Alarm UPDATED

Thousands of dead fish have turned up in an Arkansas river just days after 3,000 birds mysteriously dropped dead from the sky, but authorities say the deaths are not related.

An estimated 100,000 dead drum fish are floating along a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River and washing up on the river’s banks near the town of Ozark in the northwestern part of the state.

The dead fish were discovered just after 3,000 red-wing blackbirds fell from the sky in the town of Beebe, more than 100 miles from the site of the dead fish. Officials, who tripled the early estimates of the number of dead birds, said the bird deaths may have been caused by lightning or by stress from fireworks and said they were unrelated to the fish kill.

Fish kills happen every year, but kills of this size are relatively rare. Hundreds more drum fish are sick and have been sent to the University of Arkansas for testing.

Andrew Goodwin, the associate director of the University of Arkansas’ Aquaculture and Fisheries Center, said he didn’t believe the deaths were caused by pollutants. “It’s unlikely to be a toxin,” Goodwin told AOL News by phone today.

NEW ORLEANS — Some 500 dead and dying birds fell onto a Louisiana highway on Monday, just three days after a similar incident in Arkansas.

The events have led to speculation running from poisonings to “End of Days” scenarios, but a key federal agency emphasized that mass bird die-offs are not that rare.

Most of the birds found on Louisiana Highway 1 near Point Coupee were red-winged blackbirds, as was the case in Beebe, Ark., some 360 miles away. The species is one of the most common in the United States, with a population estimated at up to 200 million.

Some of the Louisiana birds will be tested by the National Wildlife Health Center run by the U.S. Geological Survey. But a USGS spokesman told The Baton Rouge Advocate that USGS records showed 16 incidents in the last 30 years where more than 1,000 blackbirds have died all at once.

“These large events do take place,” he said. “It’s not terribly unusual.”
